Common questions about leads management.
Why is my lead showing as a duplicate?
Leads are identified by their ZoomInfo Person ID. If you try to capture someone already in the system, it’s flagged as duplicate. This prevents double-counting.
Can I merge duplicate leads?
Currently, the system prevents duplicates rather than merging. If you need to update a lead’s information, find the existing lead and edit it.
How do I remove a lead from a campaign?
- Go to Leads page
- Find the lead
- Click three-dot menu > Edit
- Clear the campaign field
- Save
Or use bulk actions to move leads to “No Campaign”.
Why are some contact icons grayed out?
Grayed out icons mean that data is missing:
- Gray email icon = No email captured
- Gray phone icon = No phone number
- Gray LinkedIn icon = No LinkedIn URL
Consider enriching leads to add missing data.
Can I undo a lead conversion?
Yes. If a converted lead needs to be reverted:
- Mark as Lost (with reason)
- Then use “Restore from Lost” action
- Lead returns to converted status
How long is lead data retained?
All lead data is retained indefinitely. Deleted leads are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Why can’t I edit a lead?
Check that:
- You’re signed in
- The lead wasn’t captured in a locked period
- You have edit permissions for your role
Contact your admin if issues persist.
Can I import leads from CSV?
CSV import is an admin feature. Contact your Super Admin to bulk import leads.
