What Are Benchmarks?
Benchmarks are reference values representing typical industry performance. Your actual rates are compared against these to determine status (Excellent, Good, Average, Poor).
Benchmark Metrics
| Metric | Description | Typical Value |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery Rate | % reaching inbox | 95% |
| Open Rate | % opened | 40-45% |
| Reply Rate | % of opened that reply | 15-20% |
| Bounce Rate | % bouncing | 2-3% |
| Positive Rate | % of replies positive | 20-30% |

How Values Are Used
Comparison Thresholds
Your rate is compared to benchmark:
| Your Performance | Status |
|---|---|
| ≥120% of benchmark | Excellent |
| 105-120% | Good |
| 95-105% | Average |
| Less than 95% | Poor |
Bounce Rate (Inverted)
Lower is better, so thresholds flip:
- ≤80% of benchmark = Excellent
- More than 105% of benchmark = Poor
